In the future CEARTE will reinforce its mission through new intervention strategies set on rigour, efficiency, excellence and that answer each regions needs, in order to a more permanent relationship between a higher school level, more qualification and more employability that create new opportunities both to adults and to young people, namely by:

A.    Vocational qualifications and skills certification with school progression – provides adults with 6th, 9th or 12th grade equivalence as well as the recognition and certification of skills acquired through professional experience.Considering the significant number of professionals who acquired skills which are not validated, nor acknowledge, let alone certified, skills recognition assumes an extraordinary social importance in order to dignify Arts and Crafts professionals.

B.    Consultancy and technical support to small companies – each year, CEARTE supports over 200 small companies in its region, through specialized consultancy or training actions which answer to their specific and concrete needs by solving problems, defining business, production and management strategies, by developing and making them viable.

C.    Handcraft Innovation Projects - mainly through international projects and designers/craftspeople partnerships.Today, in some handcraft productions, commercial success depends on innovation, since they are addressed to a very sensitive market, namely in terms of fashion, renewal, collections. CEARTE impels craftspeople toward innovation in the following areas:

  • Investment on products design – to enable the offer of a different and unique product;
  • Products diversity;
  • Invest on innovation towards production originality;
  • Using new raw materials together with the traditional ones;
  • Diversify and personalize the relationship with the clients;
  • Attention to promotion and divulgation materials.

With these projects, settled on innovation through designer/craftsperson partnership, on internationalization and on market tendencies, CEARTE tries to contribute to qualified innovation in most handcraft productions. The purpose is to product high quality and elevated value products, with a strong image both in national and international markets, by using suitable technology.

D.  Partnerships with high schools in Learning/Training, increasing means, resources and skills, more adequate answers and better results - especially by focusing training in areas of high employment like Woodwork, Metalwork, Pottery, Photography, Electricity or in uprising areas such as Environmental Systems Technician, Aerogenerators Maintenance Technician and Multimedia Technician.

E.   Arts and Crafts Academy Creation – addressed to children during school breaks and to people who seek to learn a set of activities related to arts and crafts as well as social contact and occupation, occupying free time in a playful, educational and healthy way. Simultaneously, CEARTE will be a keeper of traditional techniques, that can be used as a Learning Centre that show youngsters and other interested public handcraft Knowledge and know-how.
